Psi Chi

The application for membership into Psi Chi for 2008-2009 are due DECEMBER 3, 2008

What is Psi Chi and Undergraduate Psychology Association (U.P.A.)?

Psi Chi is a national honor society in psychology. The purpose of Psi Chi is to provide academic recognition for psychology students. Our University of Illinois chapter holds monthly meetings featuring guest speakers and informational sessions of interest to psychology majors. We also publish a monthly newsletter, provide tutoring for other psych students, volunteer in the community, and host social events.

U.P.A. is an organization which works jointly with Psi Chi, but is open to all students with an interest in psychology. U.P.A. members attend the same meetings, events, and activities as Psi Chi members.

What are the benefits of Psi Chi/U.P.A.?

Becoming a member of Psi Chi/U.P.A. makes you an involved member of the psychology community. You will meet other students who share your interests, and you will have access to valuable information by interacting with other psychology students and faculty. In addition, you will have the opportunity to become more involved in the community through committee activities.

When you are inducted into Psi Chi, you become eligible to wear the Psi Chi honor card, medallion, jewelry, etc. You will have the opportunity to receive Psi Chi newsletters. You may participate in local, state, regional, national, and international conventions. In addition, you will be recognized for your interest and outstanding performance in the field of psychology.
